Senator Bam Aquino sees the need for the passage of the Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) as it will help to achieve peace and end terrorism in the southern part of the Philippines.
In a press release, Senator Bam said BBL can fight terrorism, rebellion and crime through peace and development and education and jobs.
“The BBL is long overdue. We should be prioritizing the fine tuning of the law, adopting what we’ve already learned from all the consultations, hearings, and 17 years of negotiations,” said Sen. Bam.
The BBL is the enabling measure of the peace compact signed by the Philippine government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) in 2014.
“If prosperity for every Filipino is the goal, let’s pass the best possible version of the BBL,” he added.
Bangsamoro Transition Commission (BTC) has completed the revised draft of Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) and it was recently submitted to President Rodrigo Duterte.
