Philippine National Police chief said today that they received an information that the New People’s Army (NPA) is planning to attack Davao before the second State of the Nation Address of President Rodrigo Duterte.
As per GMA, the PNP chief Director General Ronald Dela Rosa said they are preparing for the attack of the NPA in Davao as they monitor the rebels that will make some pre-SONA attacks.
The PNP chief said they have not monitored any other threat but they are not discounting the possibility. “Hindi natin madi-discount (ang possibility), pero sa ngayon walang specific kaming natanggap, namonitor na terror attack,” he said.
Governments are still reaching for peace agreement for the rebels but the talks are still depends on the rebels, according to PNP chief.
“Our quest for peace is never ending. Kung ma-achieve natin ang peace talks mas maganda. Pero kung hindi sila sinsero, wala tayong magawa kung hindi sila sinsero. Giyera, ganon talaga. Hard realities in life,” he said.
