Pictures of farmer bidding tearful farewell to 6000 pigs goes viral

Pictures of two distressed farmer in China have sparked a rescue mission to save 6,000 pigs that were trapped in a severe flooding.

A rescue team visited the farm on Tuesday morning to save the pigs and bring them to safety, local news in China reports.

The men in the pictures, named by local media as Li Zuming and Li Jie from the Kang Yuan Agriculture and Ecology Development company, had reportedly raised many of the pigs themselves, and wanted to say goodbye before they left the farm.

Some 16 million people have been affected by heavy rainstorms that hit central China since last week, leaving 112 people dead or missing in recent days, state media said Tuesday.
