The United States Geological Survey (USGS) records a magnitude 7.3 quake measuring at a depth of 617 kilometers Southeast of the Philippines on Tuesday at around 3pm.
It is a major undersea earthquake off Sulu in the Celebes Sea and comes five days after a smaller, 4.7-magnitude tremor in the same area, according to the USGS.
At 2pm, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) detected magnitude 7.2 quake affecting General Santos City of Intensity II.
