Earthquake hits Catanduanes capital


The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Philvolcs) on Wednesday said it has recorded 5.1 magnitude earthquake in Virac, Catanduanes.

At around 2:24 p.m., tectonic earthquake was detected 15 kilometers west of Virac, Catanduanes.

There were no damages reported despite being a shallow quake with a depth of focus at only 9 kilometers below the surface.
