Duterte’s meeting discusses creation of Philippine Space Agency

During the first Cabinet Meeting of Duterte administration in 2017, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Secretary Fortunato dela Peña discussed on Monday the establishment of Philippine Space Agency at Aguinaldo State Dining Room, Malacañang Palace.

The National Space Development Program (NSDP) is tasked to establish the necessary frameworks and foundations necessary for the future Philippine Space Agency.

Senate Bills No. 1211 and No. 1259 has been proposed by senators Bam Aquino and Loren Legarda to push for the establishment of Philippine Space Agency (PSA) and the National Space Development and Utilization Policy.

With a one-billion-peso budget allotted by the DOST, the program is primarily aiming to preserve and enhance the country’s national security and promote development that is beneficial to all Filipinos.
